The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) have proposed an increase in water products in order for them to stay in business.
They have recommended that the small bottled water or 500ml bottled water be sold at two Ghana cedis up from the previous one cedi fifty pesewas while a sachet of water is to go up to 50 pesewas at retail price.
Speaking to GBC’s Jonathan Thompson, the Director of Corporate Affairs of NASPAWAP, Kwame Agyapong-Ntia said the recommendations have been necessitated by the high prices of materials and increase in utility tariffs.
Moreover, their workers are demanding salary increases adding that if they do not meet these demands, they will be out of business.
