President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has approved a framework for negotiations with the successful bidder for the Saglemi affordable housing project.
This follows a request by the Minister for Works and Housing, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
The current value of work done at Saglemi will be considered government equity, while the completion cost will be treated as the equity of the selected partner in a special purpose vehicle to be established for the project’s completion.
To ensure a fair and transparent process, the government engaged an independent evaluation entity to assess bids from five companies submitted on July 8, 2024.
According to the timeline, the entity is expected to present the preferred bidder to the Ministry of Works and Housing by mid-September 2024. Once presented, the government will negotiate terms for a joint venture between the two parties.
The President’s approval of the framework paves the way for negotiations to begin, pending the completion of the evaluation and the submission of the preferred bidder by the independent evaluation entity.
