The Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation (MoCDTI) has initiated a strategic human resource restructuring process aimed at aligning its operations with the President’s governance reform agenda.

A statement issued on Saturday, February 15, 2025, confirmed that the restructuring seeks to “enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the Ministry, its agencies, and associated programs.”

As part of this initiative, Minister Sam Nartey George previously requested the CVs of all directors and senior management personnel, signaling an impending leadership reshuffle.

The initial phase of the restructuring has already begun, affecting key entities such as the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Programme, which is being implemented in partnership with the World Bank.

According to the statement, further adjustments within the Ministry and its affiliated agencies will take place in the coming weeks.

“The first phase of this restructuring has been executed, impacting the National Communications Authority and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Programme in collaboration with the World Bank,” the statement noted.

Minister Sam George also acknowledged the dedication and contributions of the Ministry’s staff, wishing them success in their future roles.

“The Minister extends his appreciation to all staff for their commitment and service to the nation and wishes them well in their professional journeys,” the statement added.

This restructuring effort is expected to strengthen the Ministry’s operational framework and drive further innovation in Ghana’s digital and communications sector.

The MoCDTI plays a critical role in the country’s digital transformation agenda, overseeing telecommunications regulation, digital infrastructure development, and technology-driven governance reforms. The ongoing restructuring aligns with broader governmental initiatives to modernize public administration and enhance service delivery.
