Ghana deserves President like my husband- Samira speaks to GTV

Wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia, has shared that Ghana needs a President like her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to turn the tide.

In an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show on November 20, 2024, Samira Bawumia, the wife of Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, expressed her belief that Ghana deserves a leader like her husband. 

She views the position as an incredible privilege.

“… as first lady, whatever I’ve done as second lady, I’ll build on those successes. But my preoccupation, honestly, is getting Bawumia elected as President, because Ghana deserves a President like him,” she stated.

Additionally, Samira praised Dr. Bawumia’s problem-solving abilities, hard work, and integrity, stating her confidence in his potential as an excellent president. Despite the new pressures that come with possibly becoming the first lady after campaigning as a running mate’s wife, her faith in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership abilities remains strong. 

She is convinced that he will be the transformative President, Ghana needs in the coming years. She stated her active support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential campaign in Ghana, emphasising her dedication to contributing positively in any role she assumes.

Moreover, in her capacity as the wife, she intends to leverage on her accomplishments for further progress. 

However, her focus remains on ensuring Dr. Bawumia’s victory in the presidential race, citing his suitability for Ghana’s leadership. She clearly stated her active support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential campaign in Ghana, emphasising her dedication to contributing positively in any role she assumes.

Wife of the Vice President acknowledged the inherent challenges in addressing all issues, but she attested to the current government’s integrity, people-centered approach, and implementation of policies that have benefitted the country’s populace.
