The Ga-Dangme community has inaugurated the Ga Seventh-day Adventist Church and a school for pastors. The newly established school for pastors is an initiative of the Ga-Dangme Rural Evangelism Mission to equip pastors with linguistic and cultural skills to minister effectively within Ga-speaking communities.

Fifty-six (56) individuals were officially accepted as members of the church after a voting process by the nominating committee. New elders, deacons, and church officers were also elected, ordained, and charged with their responsibilities, and about thirty (30) individuals from the Ga-Mashie SDA Church and other Seventh-day Adventist churches officially joined the newly inaugurated Ga Seventh-day Adventist Church. These individuals, who had been instrumental in helping to build and establish the church, expressed their willingness to become permanent members.

There came the declaration of the new church’s name and its official recognition as a sister church within the Seventh-day Adventist community. The newly established school for pastors is an initiative of the Ga-Dangme Rural Evangelism Mission. It aims to equip pastors with linguistic and cultural skills to minister effectively within Ga-speaking communities.

According to Elder Reuben Tetteh, a key leader in this initiative, the school is designed to ensure pastors can communicate the gospel in a way that resonates with our people, bringing hope and faith to every corner of the Ga-Dangme region.

“There is a project that the Ga-Dangme is to mission to ensure that we have a church organised fully for the Ga-Dangme people so when they come to church, they enjoy the beauty of the worship, their own indigenous language. So here we do everything basically Ga when it comes to singing, the Bible lessons, and the sermons,” he added.

The President of the Accra City Conference of the SDA Church, Pastor S.O.T. Hammond, encouraged perseverance and hope in the face of life’s challenges.

Drawing parallels between biblical teachings and contemporary issues, he emphasised the importance of love, unity, and resilience. “When you are an influencer or as a public opinion, you should be very careful for what you put outside there so that you don’t create chaos; rather, all of us are looking for progress; we are looking to create a pandemic, HIV/AIDS, and for now, what we are looking for as Ghanaians is peace,” he added.

Special prayers were also offered for the items dedicated to the church, including communion items, mats, and pillows. Music played a significant role in the day’s proceedings, with performances by the Ga Church Youth Choir and The Kings Ambassadors adding a spiritual vibrancy to the event.
