The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi and a Deputy Energy Minister, Andrew Agyapa Mercer has supported Muslims in his Constituency during the ongoing fast by donating some items to facilitate the Ramadan.
Items donated include 120 bags of rice and 70 bags.
The Sekondi Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Percy Morgue Ansah who presented the items on behalf of the MP, thanked all Muslims for being faithful to Allah.
He urged them to focus their prayer also on unity, peace and love among the Zongo Communities across the country.
Mr Ansah wished them well and prayed to Allah to guide the Muslim faithful against challenges they may face during their fasting.
The Regional Nasara Coordinator for the NPP, Alhaji Labib Ali Hassan who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the MP for the kind gesture and unending benevolence and support for the Muslim community.
”As always, the Muslim Community will continue to dedicate the Ramadan fasting period to pray for the country’s peace and development”.
”The leadership of Sekondi Zongo will also ensure that all acts that will affect national cohesion are prevented”.
Also present at the event was the Western Regional Kotokoli Chief, Alhaji Awal who used the occasion to pray for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the MP, Lawyer Mercer.
He also prayed for the President, Ministers and all who serve the nation in diverse ways.
The holy month of Ramadan started on April, 3 2022 after the moon of Ramadan was sighted in Ghana.
