Seven envoys present letters of Credence to Akufo Addo

Seven Envoys on January 27, 2020, presented their letters of credence to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.

They are Colonel Awoki Panassa from Togo, Abdoul Karder Toure Mali, Madame Olga Syradin Guinea and Eliphas Mugendi Barine Kenya.

The rest are Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira Rwanda, Kufa Edward Chinoza Zimbabwe and Sugandh Rajaram from India.

President Akufo-Addo asked for the support of the envoys especially, those from Africa as the country builds a first-class Secretariat to host the Continental Free Trade Area.

The Zimbabwe High Commissioner, Kufa Edward Chinoza who was the first to present his credentials appealed to President Akufo Addo to support efforts that will help lift the economic sanctions which have been in place for some years now.

President Akufo-Addo promised to work towards the lifting of the sanctions.

The Malian Ambassador, Abdoul Karder Toure commended Ghana for the successful year of return programme. Indian High Commissioner, Sugandh Rajaram wants the two countries to strengthen cooperation in the area of renewable energy and agriculture as well as find new areas of investment. President Akufo-Addo was pleased with Indian investments in Ghana

Kenyan High Commissioner, Eliphas Mugendi Barine, the Togolese Ambassador, Colonel Awoki Panassa, Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira from Rwanda and Madam Olga Syradin from Guinea took turns to present their credentials. They congratulated Ghana on hosting the ACFTA secretariat and the year of return. President Akufo-Addo thanked the Envoys for supporting Ghana’s bid to host ACFTA Secretariat. President Akufo-Addo said Ghana will meet the March deadline for the operationalisation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat.
