Shakeup in Police service: CID boss Tiwaa, 23 others reassigned

The Director-General of Police CID, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has been reassigned by the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh. She will now be the Director-General in-charge of Welfare at the Ghana Police Service.

COP Isaac Ken Yeboah, formerly the Director-General in-charge of Administration becomes the new CID boss.

This is contained in a statement signed by the IGP. Twenty three other top officials have also been reassigned.

COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare who was the Director-General of Welfare is now the Director-General, Administration, while COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, previously the Director-General, MTTD is now the Director-General in-charge of Special Duties.

The changes in command take effect from the January 15, 2020.

At the Regional Command level, 12 Commanders have been reshuffled. They include Deputy Regional Commander of the Upper East Region, DCOP Paul Kwame Ayittey, who will take over as the Regional Commander of the Oti Region; the Regional Commander of the North East Region, DCOP Albert Nang-Baa Denkaabe, has been reassigned as the Armourer-General; with the Director General of the Public Affairs Directorate, COP David Eklu now moving to the Police Hospital as the Administrator.
