Shatta Wale, Medikal, and 3 others granted bail

An Accra Circuit Court has granted musician Charles Nii Amarh Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale to a self-recognisance bail of one hundred thousand cedis.

The other three accused persons who were charged with abetment of publication of false news were also admitted to one hundred thousand cedis bail each with one surety who should be a public servant.

Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty to one charge count to wit Publication of false news that caused fear and panic in the public. This is the second appearance after five days in prisons custody.

Meanwhile, Rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong popularly known as Medikal has also been granted bail in the sum of ¢100,000 by an Accra Circuit Court. He is to produce one surety who must be a Public Servant.

The court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Essandoh, granted him bail after his lawyer Emmanuel Yeboah Ghana repeated the previous bail application.

The case has been adjourned to the 9th of November, 2021. The accused pleaded not guilty to one charge of displaying arms and ammunition.
