Six illegal chainsaw operators have been sentenced to six months imprisonment for felling trees in the Mpameso forest reserve.
Forestry staff in the Dormaa forest District on their usual patrol came across three persons carrying lumber in the heart of the forest which they had felled and sawn.
The suspects are Mohammed Alhassan, Prince Damoah and a third suspect who escaped arrest and his name was given as Essuman.
They were apprehended and handed over to the Sunyani Police and were arraigned before court on Monday January 21.
