The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners has expressed disappointment at how the Sector was mentioned in the NPP’s recently launched Manifesto.
The Association said the less attention that was given to the Small Scale Mining Sector seeks to trivialise the potential of the sector that contributes 48 percent of gold mined in the country.
The Association after carefully reviewing the manifesto called on the NPP to come out with a document outlining and detailing its intentions for the sector.
The Association also requested a Policy on the sector to know the party’s next steps towards the fight against illegal mining, which war it waged during its first term in office.
The Small Scale Miners said while it regrets the seeming oversight, it believes it is not too late to revisit the issue.
