The Kaneshie District Court has ordered the prosecution to serve the Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Francis Xavier Sosu with witness statements and all documents to be relied on during the trial.
Mr Sosu who was present at the Court has been accused of unlawfully blocking a public road and destruction of public property.
At the hearing yesterday, Counsel for Mr Sosu, Victor Adwudu withdrew some pending applications.
One was filed last November 30, 2022, to set aside the bench warrant issued for the arrest of the MP. It was withdrawn because the warrant was later rescinded. The other application was for Stay of Proceedings and set aside criminal summons.
Mr Adawudu prayed the Court to order the prosecution to serve the defense with disclosures to facilitate speedy recovery.
The Prosecutor ASP Sylvester Asare responded that the disclosures were not filed due to the pending applications.
Mr Sosu joined his constituents in a demonstration over poor roads last October 25,2021. During the protest, some public property was destroyed.
Hearing has been adjourned to March 14.
