Although Organized Labour has called off its strike that was scheduled to take effect from today, Monday 15th July 2024, it has asked Management of SSNIT to engage with the Unions.
A one-month ultimatum is on the table to engage the leadership of the organized labor on the management of their pensions given the brouhaha over sale of 60% stale in some SSNIT Hotels.
At a media briefing by the labor unions today in Accra, all workers have been advised to resume work on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024.
This called-off strike is a result of a response the labor unions received from SSNIT indicating that it had terminated its move to sell 60% shares of some four hotels.
The media briefing was led by the Secretary-General of TUC, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah.
He said they will continue to engage with the board of SSNIT to resolve all outstanding issues amicably.
