The Overseer and Head Pastor of the Rivers of Life International Ministries, at Winneba in the Central Region, Bishop George Nii Aryeh has urged the media to stop giving their platforms to traditional priests to advertise their services.
According to Bishop Aryeh, these advertisements are leading the youth astray because they tend to think it is the shortest means of becoming wealthy, which eventually lead to other disastrous consequences.
He said these traditional priests give unrealistic promises and quick solutions to spiritual, physical, financial and even emotional problems and provide their contacts for people who need their services.
These priests even go to the extent of promising to make anyone rich by just following some spiritual instructions to be instantly wealthy.
Bishop George Nii Aryeh was speaking to journalists at the 13th Anniversary of the Rivers of Life International Ministries at Winneba.
He said it is the unemployed youth who normally fall prey to these adverts and patronize their services, adding that such practices are not making the youth value the essence and benefits of hard work.
Bishop Aryeh said in their quest to get rich quickly, these desperate youth are demanded to perform rituals which involves human sacrifices.
“These Priests require parts of the human body to perform their rituals of making their clients rich and this has accounted for the many ritual murder cases we have been inundated with in recent times”, he said.
The Bishop advised the youth to desist from get-rich-quick schemes since they are dangerous and have a short life span of temporary enjoyment but lasting painful consequences.
He said what the youth need in these times is patience and the attitude of working hard to achieve their goals and financial rewards.
Bishop Aryeh also urged the government to provide a friendly and beneficial environment for the youth to establish their own businesses.
To the media, Bishop Aryeh said there should be a strict policy of no promotion for religious heads who promise a quick solution to people’s financial needs.
He said the media must not follow money to the detriment of human lives.
The 13th Anniversary of the Rivers of Life International Ministries, was marked with week-long Clean up Exercises, Street Evangelism and a Thanksgiving Service.
