Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako Atta, says the whole stretch of the Accra- Tema Motorway has to be reconstructed.
This is because the more than 50-year-old highway has lived beyond its design lifespan.
Taking his turn at the Public Accounts Committee, Mr. Amoako Atta, said serious consideration is being done to reconstruct the 19.5-kilometer road to bring it back to shape.
This response was after MP for Beum, Kofi Adams, wanted to know why the Ministry has turned a blind eye to the potholes on the motorway.
In a related development, Deputy Gender and Social Protection Minister Francisca Oteng Mensah referred the question as to why two parcels of lands at Nima and Tesano for the Osu Children’s Home, have not been retrieved to the Director of Social Welfare Rev. Mrs. Comfort Asare, who said one of the lands has been retrieved and the other, is still in contention.
