Tamale is hosting this year’s World Consumer Rights Day which falls Friday, March 15.
The National Communication Authority Zonal Manager for Northern Region, Abubakari Iddrisu Aloma said the event taking place in Tamale will give consumers the opportunity to demand for their rights.
They will also be empowered to ensure the Rights are respected and protected as well as protest market abuses and social injustices.
The theme for this year’s World Consumers Right Day is, “Consumer Empowerment and Protection in a Smarter Market”.
The NCA Zonal Manager for the Northern Region, Abubakari Iddrisu Aloma, said Lamashegu market, a suburb of Tamale will host the celebration.
Mr Aloma indicated that they want to get closer to the people to raise awareness about consumer rights and their needs.
Mr Aloma noted that empowered and enlightened consumers as end users will be conscious of the services offered them. Mr Aloma urged various networks to adhere to the directives of NCA.
