The Chairman of the Ghana National Tanker Drivers Union, George Nyaunu, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the President to address their concerns to avoid an escalation of their industrial action.

According to him, several attempts to get their issues resolved have proved futile, hence the threat.

The Drivers have accused the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) of deliberately failing to operationalise more than 80 Gas stations which would have employed more tankers and improve their working conditions.

The Association has also accused the police of violence against them.
