Telecommunication companies (Telcos) in Ghana have indicated their readiness to get the e-levy policy implemented starting today.
Vodafone Ghana in a message to its customers informed them of the implementation. MTN Ghana also did the same by informing its clients of this directive.
It further gave customers contacts and the GRA website where they could get any other information needed on the implementation of the new tax.
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has asked charging entities for the E-Levy implementation to ensure that wrong deductions are reversed smoothly.
The GRA made this order in its administrative guidelines for the implementation of the policy which was published last week.
The document lists the areas in financial transactions that are covered under the policy and the areas that are not.
The GRA noted that it has informed the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to put their systems in place for the implementation of the levy.
The Authority on Thursday April 28, 2022 modified the phased-approach for the implementation of the E-Levy.
