The Ministry of Roads and Highways has halted the collection of Road and Bridge Toll with immediate effect.
This order, according to the sector minister, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, takes effect from today – Thursday, November 18, 2021.
It followed the presentation of the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy presented by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
A portion of the budget talks about the scrapping of tolls on all public roads. GBC News has visited some toll booths to access the situation from the hawkers and other road users.
Our Tema Correspondent, Michael Dewornu was at the toll booth on the Accra-Tema Motorway and has this report.
