Tema & Teshie Nungua in the Greater Accra Region was not spared in the Monday Night, May 23, 2022 rains.
Some areas that got flooded include Communities Two and Five.
The main road at the back of the Tema Polyclinic is also flooded causing drivers to turn the other side of the road into a double road, facing oncoming traffic.
Lotto kiosks along the main road have submerged with trucks parked along the shoulders of the road.
Some small vehicles that tried to meander got stuck.
Some of the drivers who spoke to the news team, say they want the authorities to ”fix the problem”.
A Pregnant woman at the Community Five Village who also had her wooden structure submerged had no choice, but to use her chair as a bed, and slept on the shoulders of the road.
The affected residents say the Member of Parliament for the Area, Carlos Ahenkorah visited the scene after last Saturday’s downpour and promised to return, but the MP is yet to honour his promise.
The downpour also aggravated vehicular traffic on the Tema-Nungua road.
Aside from the usual traffic caused by the ongoing road expansion, there is heavy traffic on the Sakumono stretch as some portions have not been completed, compelling drivers to manoeuvre through the mud to get to their various destinations.
The rains also flooded the roads which, in effect, run through some homes within the Teshie-Nungua Township.
