October 1 is World Older Persons Day. The day was set aside by the United Nations to take a second look at the living conditions of older people and ensure that the rights of the aged are protected.
Meanwhile, the President of Older Peoples Association of Ghana, Nathaniel Botwe, says the day should remind all of the ‘frailties’ of old persons and to always accord them the necessary support and respect.
He said old people deserve the best from society, having served the country and humanity with all their strength and knowledge.
Today is International Day of Older Persons.
A day to remind the world that older people have rights too & to remind yourself that one day it could be you. #OldPeoplesDay pic.twitter.com/HEHPzCJ8K5
