The Ghana Police Service has arrested 26 individuals for openly displaying and firing toy guns in public. The arrests were made after reports of the increasing use of toy guns in public spaces.
In a statement released on November 25, the Police confirmed that the suspects are assisting with investigations. They will soon face charges in court. Several toy guns have also been seized as part of the investigation.
The Police have launched special operations to track down others involved in the activity, which has become a growing concern in some areas of the country.
Authorities are warning young people to stop engaging in this behaviour, which they say violates the Criminal Offences Act and disrupts public peace. The Police reassured the public that they are committed to ensuring the country remains safe and peaceful.
