The Bono Regional Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Esther Abayeta has asked traders close to a refuse container behind the Sunyani-Chiraa Station to exercise patience as her outfit is working assiduously to solve the sanitation challenges facing them in the area.

Mrs. Abayeta made the promise when responding to concerns of traders close to the refuse container at the Chiraa Station in Sunyani. ‘’ for that place, we pick it daily, but you know it’s also a busy area so at times before they finish with other areas and get there, that’s where the problems come in, but we will also set that area as one of our priority areas so that they take it early’’ She said.

Meanwhile, the traders said the lengthy periods it takes for the Chiraa Station Refuse Container to be emptied when full has been a long standing problem.

But now the Traders say it has become unbearable.

They maintain that apart from driving away their customers, the insanitary conditions also poses a serious health risk, hence their call for immediate intervention.

“We want the assembly to appoint a watchman to watch over the dumping site to prevent people from dropping cabbages on the ground’’.

An Employee of Zoom Lion, Konkomba, who has the duty of cleaning the dump site, told the GBC he feels disappointed with his employers and threatened to quit the job.

“Management of Zoomlion Company Limited have been unsympathetic towards my welfare, they owe me for several months and showed mercilessness when I once fell sick’’. He claims.

”Tell them, I can no longer work with them, whether they pay my arrears or not, I have stopped the job’’. He added.

When contacted, the Assemblyman of the area, Moro Salia said, he is aware of the problem and is liaising with Authorities to solve it.
