Since the announcement by Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to cease the payment of lump sum to pensioners by January, next year (2020), contributors to the scheme have raised a number of questions as to what this really means.
GBC’s Radio Ghana spoke to the TUC’s Secretary General, Dr. Yaw Baah who explains that the second tier will take care of the lump sum.
Dr. Baah noted that the TUC, the National Pension Regulatory Authority and other relevant organisations are still in talks to ensure the smooth management of this new measure.
He assured workers of easy access to their money when they go on pension.
