The TUC has asked the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, ICU, to apologise for the disrespect shown to President Akufo-Addo, the Vice President and other dignitaries who graced this year’s May Day celebrations.

Members of the ICU are alleged to have displayed placards with defamatory inscriptions which were deemed inappropriate.

There are differences between the two unions over the true ownership and occupancy of the Hall of Trade Unions in Accra which is being litigated in court.

At a news conference in Accra, the Secretary General of TUC, Dr. Yaw Baah apologised on behalf of organised labour for the disrespectful behaviour of the ICU leaders and members.
