The Upper West Regional Office of the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, says last week’s floods in the region have displaced 277 people. Two women also lost their lives, after their buildings collapsed on them in the Wa East and Nadowli-Kaleo Districts.
The Regional Director of NADMO, Ahmed Mustapha who spoke with Correspondent Sualah Abdul-Wahab confirmed the deaths.
‘’ The latest number of people affected by the flood is 277, with 2 deaths. The deceased are women from Wa East and Nadowli-Kaleo Districts. NADMO intends to give relief packages to the affected in Wa East, since they have the most recorded cases. The Red Cross will also be around tomorrow to support’’ according to the Upper West Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization.
