The U.S. Embassy in Accra has announced that it will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2025, in observance of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Due to this closure, all visa appointments originally scheduled for that day have been rescheduled.
In a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the embassy stated, “All Immigrant Visa appointments are rescheduled for 7:00 am on Friday, April 4, 2025.” It further noted, “All Non-immigrant Visa appointments are rescheduled for the morning of Friday, April 11, 2025. Please check your email this week for a notification with your individual appointment time.”

Eid-Ul-Fitr is a significant Islamic holiday marking the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and prayer. The U.S. Embassy’s closure aligns with Ghana’s national observance of the celebration.
