The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, UG, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has led a delegation from the University of Ghana to pay a courtesy call on the Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite who doubles as the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs.
The purpose of the visit is to congratulate Nene Sakite on his 25th anniversary celebration of his reign as the Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional Area and also to discuss the existing partnership between the University and the Manya Krobo Traditional Area.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that Manya Krobo Traditional Area is an important partner to the University as far as agricultural research is concerned, and the University is poised to maintain a stronger and strengthened relationship with the traditional area.
His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite welcoming the delegation, stated that he and his people are ready to foster the long-standing relationship between the University and the Krobo land for mutual benefit.
The Krobo Area is home to two of the University’s Research Centres that is the Agricultural Research Station at Kpong and the Nutrition Research and Training Centre at Asesewa.
