The Upper East Regional Coordinating Council has made a donation of GHC105,000 towards the construction of the National Cathedral. A fundraising launch was designed to raise awareness about the responsibility of all Ghanaians to continuously support the Cathedral project prayerfully and financially.

Announcing the donation in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu said ”the building of the National Cathedral required the physical and spiritual support of all Ghanaians for its establishment”.

He said though the government of Ghana is committed to the project and had already donated 10% of the total cost and provided land at a prime site for the project, the beneficiaries of the project cannot rest on their oars.

Mr. Yakubu mentioned that it was prudent to give proper protection to the soul while engaging in activities for material wealth, hence commended President Akufo-Addo and his administration for the initiative to put up the Cathedral.

The Regional Minister revealed this at a Regional Fundraising Launch held in Bolgatanga.

“On behalf of RCC and my lieutenants, the MDAs, our contribution is hundred and five thousand Ghana Cedis”, he mentioned.
