The Secretary to the Interministerial Committee on Mining, Charles Bissiw has described the vetting of small scale miners in Accra a success.
Speaking on “Behind the News”, Mr Bissiw said more than 800 applications were received to go through the process of regularization.
He hoped genuine miners will get the opportunity to be put back in a better position to mine the environment.
Meanwhile the convener of the Media Coalition against illegal mining, Ken Ashigbe has called for clarity and openness in the regularisation of Small Scale Mining devoid of partisanship.
