Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for their thoughtful messages and well wishes following reports of her hospitalization over the weekend due to a sudden illness.

In a statement released on Monday, March 31, she conveyed her gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank everyone for their kind words and well wishes over the weekend.”

The Vice President also extended her best wishes to the Muslim community as they celebrate this year’s Eid Al-Fitr.

“On this sacred occasion, I send my warmest greetings to you and your loved ones. Your dedication, values, and contributions continue to uplift our nation and the world. May this celebration bring you happiness, peace, and renewed strength,” she stated.

Over the weekend, the presidency confirmed that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang had received medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after falling ill on Friday, March 28, 2025.

A statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament and Minister for Government Communications, further disclosed that medical professionals have advised the Vice President to seek additional treatment abroad to ensure her complete recovery.
