Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has held discussions with Former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The discussions centered on a number of issues, primarily Ghana’s elections in December and the need for peaceful polls.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, led a delegation of the West African Elders Forum (WAEF), an initiative of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, which works on the promotion of democracy, peace and security in the sub-region.
President Jonathan’s delegation, which also included H.E. Kadre Desire Quadraago, former President of the ECOWAS Commission, is in the country on a pre-election mission.
The discussions among others centred on ensuring a peaceful election process in Ghana.
Ghana is one of the most peaceful countries in the sub-region, and Dr Bawumia reiterated his commitment to “a peaceful election process, to help preserve the peace and harmony of our country”.
