The Ghana Chapter of the West African Postgraduate College of Environmental Health (WAPCEH) has elected new executives to oversee the day-to-day running of the local chapter.
The newly elected executives are to serve a two-year term from September 2024 to September 2026.
The election took place during the college’s annual conference held in Lomé, Togo, from September 8-14, 2024.
The executives are Mr Michael Affordofe as elected National President and also as Vice President at the West African Regional level.
Other elected officials include National Secretary General and Registrar Mr Kweku Quansah, National Treasurer Florence S. Kuukyi, and Emmanuel Gmanab as the National Organiser and Public Relations Officer.
The rest are Northern Ghana Coordinator Donatus Dogonaa Yieri, with Henry Adipah, Dr Stephen Ntow, and Isaac Newton serving as Members of Council of Patrons.
This was contained in a press release signed by newly elected president, Mr Michael Affordofe.
The newly elected President, Mr Affordofe, thanked the Fellows for their confidence and called for support to increase the visibility of WAPCEH Ghana Chapter both locally and internationally.
WAPCEH, founded in 2015, aims to produce world-class Environmental Health Specialists and is supervised by the West African Health Organisation (WAHO).
Environmental health practitioners with postgraduate qualifications were encouraged to join the college for specialisation opportunities.
The conference was themed “The Connection of Environmental Health, Global Health, and Determinants for a Healthy Population in the ECOWAS Region.”
