West Africa Journalists brainstorm over ECOWAS Vision 2050 in Monrovia Liberia

A Consultative workshop is ongoing in Monrovia, Liberia for media practitioners from the sub-region.

The meeting is part of wider consultations with stakeholders on the development of the ECOWAS Vision 2050.

Vice President of the ECOWAS Commission, Madam Finda Koroma in a message said the media are vital in providing information, ensuring citizens have access to diverse opportunities and clarifying complex issues to citizens.

Madam Koroma said by disseminating positive socio-economic changes, through evidence-based stories, the media become important change agents in the region and providing all stakeholders with valuable early warning signals that ensure that projects remain on the right implementation path.

Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism of Liberia, Ledgerhood Rennie, thanked ECOWAS for hosting the meeting in Liberia.

He urged participants to be bold and pragmatic in their deliberation, ensuring that all the media aspirations are captured in Vision 2050.
