World Inspiring Network (WIN) has initiated discussions with the Paramount Chief of Kwamoso to introduce a youth-led community-based insect farming project. The project, a component of WIN’s Green Action Project, aims to promote climate-smart agriculture, create jobs for young people, and contribute to the country’s efforts to address climate change.

Guillermo de Ory, Project Coordinator of World Inspiring Network, presented the project’s objectives and implementation plan to the Chief and his team. The project aims to produce protein-rich feed for poultry and aquaculture, as well as organic fertilizer and manure.

The Paramount Chief of Kwamoso expressed his enthusiasm for the project and offered a warehouse for the initiative. He also assured his full support in mobilizing the community.

According to Maxwell Odonkor, Executive Director of World Inspiring Network, “We are excited to explore the possibility of implementing this innovative project in Kwamoso. We believe that insect farming presents a unique opportunity for climate adaptation, innovative finance, and resilience. We look forward to working closely with the community to ensure the project’s success.”

As a next step, WIN will meet with all sub-Chiefs on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, to discuss the project in further detail. This will be followed by a community-wide meeting to gather inputs, advice, and suggestions from the community.

World Inspiring Network (WIN) was represented by Maxwell Odonkor, Executive Director, Guillermo de Ory, Project Coordinator, and Thelma Naroog Bamanteeh, Executive Assistant.
