Reports reaching Radio Ghana say NDC’s MP for Yagaba Kabore, Tanko Abdul Rauf’s car was shot at by unknown gunmen while at a rally. Fortunately, his driver who was then handling the car escaped unhurt but the vehicle was damaged.
A member of the Civil Society for Peace and Development, Jeremiah Seidu, who spoke to Radio Ghana’s George Ankrah said there is the need to beef up security in the region.
Mr. Seidu said the constituency should be designated as one of the hotspots for serious monitoring during and after the elections. He said the NPP parliamentary candidate’s office and residence were also vandalised.
MP for Yagaba Kabore, Tanko Abdul Rauf, said the disturbances call for reinforced security.
Meanwhile, the NPP candidate for the constituency, Ussif Mustapha, also confirmed that his radio station, house, and vehicles were vandalised.
