The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), and Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), are to establish a business forum seeking to allow both public broadcasters to exchange information and programmes on their networks.

On his maiden visit to the GBC, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Richard Mwanza said a collaboration between the two will help disseminate accurate information on Cultural Values, promote Pan Africanism and eschew any negative images projected by the west, to the world.

It was a familiarisation visit by Mr. Richard Mwanza and his Deputy, to the public service broadcaster, on GBC’s operations.

Mr Mwanza is Zambia’s new High Commissioner in Ghana. He commended GBC for performing its duties creditably, in the dissemination of information, while remaining professional in doing same. He said his country, is ready to tap from GBC’s expertise and will collaborate with the Corporation in the exchange of programmes.

The Acting Director of Television, Mr. Ebenezer Ampaabeng welcomed the proposed collaboration between the two. He said GBC will provide the needed platform to set the plan in motion.

The Director-General of GBC, Prof. Amin Alhassan said it is important for GBC to have diversity of programmes by introducing different cultures from neighboring countries like Zambia to enrich GBC’s content. This he says will further promote Africa’s Cultural Values.

The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation(ZNBC), was established by an act of parliament in 1987, from being a government Department under its Ministry of Information into a statutory body and has three domestic services, broadcasting in seven major local languages, English and international services.
