President Akufo-Addo has inaugurated a 300-bed young soldiers’ accommodation for the 37 military hospitals.

The imposing edifice will house young soldiers who work at the hospital and other health facilities of the military in the Greater Accra Region.

President Akufo-Addo who inaugurated the building, said his government is committed to the wellbeing and welfare of personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The 300-capacity young soldiers block started in 2016 to reduce the accommodation challenges faced by the 37 military hospitals. With the use of internally generated funds, the project stalled in 2018 due to lack of funds.

The current Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama upon assumption of office in 2021 revived the project. The CDS made an appeal to the Chief Executive of the Jospong Group of Companies to assist with the completion of the block. Jospon obliged as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The CEO of Jospon, Joseph Siaw Agyepong, noted that the company will continue to support state institutions in line with its mission of improving lives.

Vice Admiral Seth Amoama said troops are highly motivated with the ongoing projects in the barracks.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated government commitment to reducing the accommodation deficit confronting the Ghana Armed Forces.

The accommodation block was named after the CEO of Jospong Group, Joseph Siaw Agyepong.
