Akatsi North MP commences 24-Hour retail campaign to obtain 95% of votes

The Minority Spokesperson on education and MP for Akatsi North in the Volta Region, has commenced a non-stop door-to door and house-to-house campaign as a move to obtain not less than 95% of the total valid vote come December 7, 2024.

The MP, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, at his campaign launch at Ave Afiadenyigba declared and commissioned the constituency executives to start the non-stop “door-to-door, house-to-house, store-to-store, market-to-market, farm-to-farm and person-to-person campaign”, for him and JM to win the upcoming Parliamentary end the Presidential elections with the highest margin.

Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe in 2020 won the election with 9,770 representing 68,1% of the total valid votes cast; he is however optimistic of increasing his vote to about 95% and do the same for the NDC presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama for victory.

On developmental issues, the Ranking Member on the Education Committee in Parliament promised his commitments to support his constituents with part of his Common Fund for them to attend higher education in different disciplines for growth.

He also noted that, with NDC in government, all the abandoned projects in the constituency will be completed and new ones as contained in the NDC’s Manifesto will start and finish on time and create job opportunities for the youth in the area.

He said, NDC government will continue the 28 kilometers Akatsi to Dakpa road as started by his Government and abandoned by the New Patriotic Party, NPP Government to open up business opportunities along the stretch so as to also stop the dust on the road when done.

He was however, grateful to the people for the massive turn out. He was happy to see the Regional Executives led by the Secretary James Gunu and Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North, Edem Agbana to participate in all the activities.

The campaign was launched by the former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Korbly Doe Adjaho who used the occasion to caution the electorates against skirt and blouse voting in the area and the Region at large.

He praised the MP for his commitment to growth and development for the area, hence his investment in education, health and the establishment of the District including accommodation for key staff working in the Assembly.

The former Speaker accused the NPP government of neglecting the area as he reminded the crowd that it took the NDC to extend light, water, and built roads, schools blocks in the area and Volta as a whole., “NDC will reward Volta from 2025”.
