Kumasi Asante Kotoko will pay outgoing head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum a severance package of $16,000 as he departs from the club. Ogum, who rejoined the team in July 2023, faced a challenging second half of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, which ultimately led to his exit.
Despite recent difficulties, Ogum successfully guided Kotoko to the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup, showcasing his capabilities despite the team’s struggles.
His departure was officially confirmed by the club after a 2-0 loss to Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, a result that extended the team’s winless streak to four matches.
The loss has left Kotoko in fourth place on the league table with 47 points, reflecting a period of inconsistency for the team.
Ogum’s tenure with the club, although impactful, was cut short amid the recent poor run of results, leading to his departure.
Despite ending his stint prematurely, Ogum will receive a total of $16,000 in severance pay from the club. This compensation marks the conclusion of his current tenure, with the club looking ahead to new leadership to improve their fortunes.
