AT Ghana CEO leads tree planting initiative in support of Green Ghana Day Campaign

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AT Ghana (formerly AirtelTigo) Leo Skarlatos, spearheaded a tree planting exercise as part of the Green Ghana Day campaign, in a significant demonstration of corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship.

This government-led initiative, now in its fourth edition, aims to significantly enhance the country’s green cover, with a target of planting 10 million trees under the theme “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow.”

During the tree planting exercise which took place at the Premises of AT Ghana Headquaters, Mr. Skarlatos noted the importance of collaborative efforts between businesses and government in addressing environmental challenges.

He said that the telecommunication sector, being a significant part of the national economy, has a responsibility to contribute positively to environmental conservation efforts.

“Today’s event is not just about planting trees; it’s about planting hope for future generations. At AT Ghana we are committed to supporting this wonderful initiative which aims to create a greener, healthier and safer environment for all,” said Mr Skarlatos.

“We are proud to be part of this movement and will continue to support such initiatives that contribute to the sustainability and well-being of our communities.”

He further encouraged employees and Stakeholders of AT Ghana to participate in this initiative and plant more trees in and around their vicinity, not just on this special day but whenever and wherever they can.
