Bipartisan Committee of Parliament unhappy with Health Minister

The Bipartisan Committee of Parliament on Finance and Health is unhappy that the Minister of, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, failed to honour its invitation to answer questions on the shortage of vaccines in the country.

The Health Minister, Ghana Health Services and allied agencies were billed to appear before the Committee at 9am today. However, officials of the NHIS appeared before the Committee and confirmed that payments for vaccines had been made.

Chairman of the Committee on Health, Dr. Nana Afriyie Ayim, said members had received no information from the Minister regarding his absence.

Some Members of the Committee also expressed their disappointment at the no show by Mr. Agyeman Manu but stressed they remained resolute to get to the bottom of the issue.
