The Black Stars on Monday, 8th January, 2024 were held at home by the Brave Warriors of Namibia. The match ended on a goalless draw with both sides not being able to give a good account of themselves, putting the ball at the back of the net.
Ghana’s display on Monday night wasn’t encouraging enough to convince the crowd present at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and football fans across the country. Football fans are already of doubt, whether the Black Stars can make an impact in the Africa Cup of Nations after failing to beat a lower ranked side heading into the AFCON 2023.
Black Stars recent form in all competitions moving forward has not been good. The team has recorded a single win in their last 5 games with their only winning coming against Madagascar which they nearly drew before Inaki Williams came to the rescue. In those five games, Ghana has lost against Comoros, USA and Mexico.
The Black Stars are gradually becoming a shadow of themselves as they continue to blow away the love Ghanaian football fans show them on a regular basis, whenever they play both in Ghana or abroad.
The team will depart to neighbouring country Ivory Coast on Wednesday 10th January, 2024 to begin their preparation towards their first game against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Sunday 14th January, 2024 in their quest of winning their fifth AFCON trophy.
