The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) is urging the government to follow through on its campaign promises to support the growth of local industries. According to CEO Seth Twum Akwaboah, the AGI is seeking dialogue and collaboration with the government to address pressing concerns affecting the industry.

In an interview on the GTV Breakfast show, Twum Akwaboah highlighted the need to boost raw materials to feed industries, citing it as crucial for businesses to stay afloat. He also identified a lack of raw materials, technology, and pre-production tax exemptions as major challenges hindering business growth.

Twum Akwaboah emphasized the need for government facilitation in land acquisition for private-sector industrial development. “Access to land is a major problem. Sometimes you need thousands of acres to be able to do big commercial farming. The state should help in the acquisition of land for private industries“.

He also expressed concern over the surge of unfairly imported products in local markets, stressing the need for urgent action to address this issue.

The AGI’s call for dialogue and collaboration with the government comes as the association seeks to promote a conducive business environment that supports the growth of local industries.
