The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Mr Edwin Alfred Provencal, says the company is positioning the Bolgatanga BOST Depot as the petroleum export hub for the nation with respect to the supply of fuel to neighbouring landlocked countries.

The BOST MD said this when CSOs in Oil and Gas paid a working visit to the revived Bolgatanga Depot.

For the past three years, the Bolga Depot remained non-functional and Sahelian countries that imported finished fuel products from Ghana relied on fuel tankers to haul petroleum products from Tema. The Depot is strategically positioned to serve countries like Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Mr Edwin Alfred Provencal, says the re-opening of the depot is timely, to take advantage of the new AfCFTA trade protocols.

The Executive Director of the Institute for Energy Security, Nana Amoasi, was impressed with the maintenances carried out so far at the various depots across the country.

The revival of the Depot will allow fuel tankers to draw fuel from the facility, cutting down distance travelled on the roads and saving the nation a lot of cost while reducing carnage on the roads.
