Co-operative institutions urged to utilize technology to enhance customer service

The Acting Registrar of Co-operative Societies of Ghana, Kwabena Yeboah Apraku has urged Co-operative institutions to utilize technology to improve their services while enhancing customer service.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Adventist Heritage Cooperative Fund, AHCoF, in Accra, Mr. Apraku underscored the relevance of cooperative services to the growth of the country’s economy.

He said, that to support the government’s efforts in improving financial inclusion, technology adoption is inevitable among financial institutions.

The Annual General Meeting of the Adventist Heritage Co-operative Fund was to conduct a comprehensive review of the organization’s performance during the preceding year and to approve strategic objectives and projections for the upcoming financial period.

According to the Executive Director of the Adventist Heritage Cooperative Fund, Elizabeth Kusi-Nsiah, despite the challenging economic environment and the rising cost of business, as a result of the global pandemic, COVID-19, AHCoF has maintained and exceeded its financial goals owing to strategic investment decisions and dedication to prudent measures.

She said AHCoF recorded a total asset of Ghs 103,797, 800.78 which represents a growth of 22 percent from what was recorded in the previous year.

She assured customers and members of the Fund that in response to the evolving customer needs, ACoF will remain committed to member-centered service delivery ensuring that the interest of members is prioritised.

Mrs Kusi-Nsiah however noted that the Fund will leverage technological improvement to provide members with more convenience, security, and personalized finance experience.
