Five Managers have been arrested for their refusal to issue or hook onto the Commissioner General’s Certified Invoice system at Spintex in Accra.

They are Palace Mall, Second Cup, Sneda, China mall and Shoprite. Out of the 50 businesses hooked up to the system in a pilot phase, only eight out of them are not complying.

Speaking to the media, the Commissioner of Domestic Tax Revenue Division of GRA, Edward Appenteng Gyamerah said the move forms part of efforts to meet the government’s revenue target for 2023.

Mr. Appenteng Gyamerah cautioned businesses who are flouting the law to desist from it, thereby encouraging them to pay and file tax returns.

Area Enforcement Head of Accra Central, Joseph Annan said the culprits have been taken to the Ministry Police Station for their statements for further prosecution.
