Windhoek (Namibia): FNB Namibia CEO Launches GITFIC Book on Actualizing the African Economic Vision

In actualizing the dream of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the Ghana International Trade and Finance (GITFiC) in collaboration with FNB Namibia has launched a book on “Actualizing the African Economic Vision in Namibia.” The book gives a better understanding to African leaders, Academia, Trade, the Finance community and all other AfCFTA patrons across the globe of Africa’s strategic framework towards development.

As part of efforts to keep the African Continental Free Trade Area alive on the continent, the Ghana International Trade and Finance (GITFiC) has come out with a handbook to enable the business community in Africa to understand the practicalities. GITFiC launched the Ghana version on September 20, 2022. 

To promote the AfCFTA vision, the Governor of Namibia’s Central Bank, Johannes Gawaxab received a copy of the handbook on behalf of his country.

At the launch, the Head of Business Banking at FNB Commercial Banking, Mr. Tomas Lindji said FNB believes that AfCFTA is capable of unlocking economic growth and stepping up competitiveness to foster regional integration. 

The Strategy and Business Development Manager, FNB Commercial, Mrs. Susan-Ann Fick commended the author and contributors for their excellent work in coming up with this comprehensive and accessible handbook.

The Group CEO of FNB Namibia, Mr. Conrad Dempsey said FBN are supporters of the book and will actively work to facilitate and promote trade within the framework. 

Chief Executive Officer of GITFiC, Mr Selasi Koffi Ackom

The Chief Executive Officer of GITFiC, Mr Selasi Koffi Ackom said a lot of hard work, several consultations, in-depth analysis, and references have gone into birthing the final product. He said the manuscript has been reviewed by several authorities including African Union.

After an extensive review by AU, the book has earned a video endorsement with a strong advocacy for African educational structures to embrace the book and for every person wanting to do business on African continent going forward.

The book is being unanimously hailed as a valuable resource for business, policymakers and stakeholders across Africa.
