GCB Bank invests heavily in cybersecurity to protect customers from rising cyber threats

Chief Internal Auditor of the Ghana Commercial Bank PLC, Sina Kamagate, has assured Customers and stakeholders of maximum security on their investments and transactions over the internet.

He confirmed the volume of transactions that are on board the systems daily and confirmed that every effort has been deployed to track and retrack to ensure that every layer of transaction is protected online. 

He therefore stressed the bank’s commitment to its customers’ security and put in place the necessary measures to substantiate operations and give customers peace of mind during transactions.

“To some extent, our customers can be assured that, from our end, we are protecting them,” he said.

In an interview with Allan Darroll Tagoe, Mr. Kamagate addressed GCB’s commitment towards its customers, as they are their responsibility, and they have substantially invested in their security operations centre to track and monitor our gateways, providing customers with peace of mind.

“As a bank, our responsibility to protect our customers is not lost on us,” he stated.

He further stated that, as part of its responsibility, GCB Bank is dedicated

to deliver regular training sessions and interactions with its patrons to empower customers with the knowledge needed to safeguard their financial assets in this digital age.

He advised that customers should be alert and discount any form of scam through calls or messages.

“And so, I want to use this opportunity to advise our customers that under no circumstance will GBC or a staff of GCB call you to ask for your bank account number, date of birth, and the rest,” he added.
