The Ghana cedi has gained over 0.21 percent against the dollar, last week, bringing its year-to-date loss to above 14 percent.
The cedi is currently trading at 10 cedis 90 pesewas to the dollar at the interbank market and 11 cedis 50 pesewas at some forex bureaus.
The performance of the cedi has been attributed to the ease in the demand pressures on the dollar. Despite its strong performance last week, analysts expect the local currency to exhibit a mixed performance by the close of this week.
The local currency however lost 0.33% week-on-week against the pound and 0.79% week-on-week against the euro.
